Culebra Loose en the Bronx
Before you get off the 5 train at the Bronx Zoo stop, you might want to look around. There’s an Egyptian cobra on the loose and he’s poisonous. Zoo staff realized he was missing Friday afternoon and notified the public this weekend.
Where would you go if you were a snake loose in the Bronx? Yankee Stadium? Pelham Bay? How about shopping on Tremont Avenue?
Well, the zoo staff have their theories, too: “Based on our knowledge of the natural history and behavior of snakes, we know they seek closed-in spaces and are not comfortable in open areas. We are confident that the snake, about 20 inches long, is contained in a non-public, isolation area within the building.”Tell us what you think in the comments below or on:
