Gaga takes her Mexico Monstruitos by Storm
Lady Gaga closed out her Monsterball in Mexico, where she played in Gualadajara and Mexico City. Her first time in Mexico was back in 2008, when she toured with “New Kids on the Block” and she absolutely fell in love with her Mexican Little Monsters. This time around she is a worldwide pop star phenomenom who has a connection with the people of Mexico. Lady Gaga performed “Americano” for the first time in Gualadajara, where she made it clear that it was a song written in response to the social injustice in her country; specifically to the anti- immigration laws in Arizona. The song she said can have one of two interpretations, on one hand it could be an American that does not understand a culture that comes into the U.S, on the other hand as the voice of an immigrant who does not understand the American version of justice or their idea of patriotism and liberty.
There were rumors that spread among the Little Monsters in Mexico that she wrote the song “Alejandro” for Alejandro Fernandez. She decided to play along with it as she does find him to be a handsome man, just to give everyone a good laugh at her shows. It’s no wonder why they thought this was true as she she mentions both Alejandro and Mexico all in one song, is there more to the story? We would love to know.
“Born This Way” is her her newest album set to come out May 23 and it is about following who you are and always honoring your identity. It will have a Latin American flavor as the Musical Director Fernando Garibay is Mexican and his family is from Mexico City. Lady Gaga was humbled by her tremendous following in Mexico, and she thanked them for believing in her and her work.Tell us what you think in the comments below or on:
