The J-Lo Rundown
Jennifer signed a new deal for American Idol’s 11th season that starts Jan. 2012. Rumor has it that it’s up to $20 mil for a one-year contract, while Steven Tyler has a two-year deal for only half of what J-Lo is getting for half the time. Double the pay for half the time? Now that’s diva status.
It was a surprise to all of us to her about the split of the seven-year marriage with her soon to be ex-husband Marc Anthony. Their spokesperson released a statement at 5 p.m. EST. Friday, July 15th. “This was a very difficult decision,” the couple said in a statement. “It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
The new Sept. issue of Vanity Fair out now, has her first interview since the split where she gets more in-depth about the break-up “I’m a hopeless romantic and passionate person when it comes to love,” Lopez explains, describing the passage that has brought her to her current state of mind. “It’s not that I didn’t love myself before. Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself—if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now.”
This statement leaves people asking does she love herself more than her children. The public doesn’t know how long the couple has been feuding so we hope that this was the last resort for sake of her two kids Max and Emmy.
• Jennifer and Marc’s TV show/Clothing Line
Even with the split they are still set to keep the business deals they made before the divorce went public. The new TV show “Q’Viva! The Chosen” will feature the couple traveling around 21 countries in North America, Central America and South America looking for talent for the next Latin star. With their split, some are speculating if the connection between the both of them will have any affect of the success of the show.
• Love and light perfume out fall of 2011
