Video: Bronx Grandma Sells Homemade Icees from her second floor window

Meet 81-year-old Providence Lamultt or “Gramma” as she’s known in this Bronx neighborhood. She’s been making her homemade icees for decades and sells them by bucket from her second-floor window.

It’s a simple process and a bargain. Put your fifty cents in the bucket and tell her what flavor and she’ll lower the icee down from her window.

The ices are a hit with the neighborhood and many people travel for the summer treats.

While most call her “Gramma”, at least one bodega employee we talked with calls her “competition”. One man is helping her win the competition by eating several ices a day.

There’s still a few weeks left before Gramma shuts down for the season and just in case you don’t make this summer, she told us she has no plans of retiring.

There’s a lot of flavors to choose from, but we found out the most popular.
