Father Albert Show Not Returning after Summer Trial Run

The Father Albert Talk Show which had a trial run this summer on several FOX stations will not be returning to television, a spokesman has confirmed to Dos Lives.

The Father Albert show, which was being tested for five weeks in six Fox markets, didn’t even last the full five weeks before it was pulled in half the test markets we previously reported.

Those markets were New York, Minneapolis and Phoenix. The show averaged a 0.7/2 in the metered markets for its first four weeks. That’s down 30% from its 1.0/3 lead-in average, although even with its year-ago time periods, according to a Broadcasting and Cable article.

Several people left comments here on Dos Lives regarding the show:

“I liked parts of the show such as What’s Your Dilemma and Hot Under the Collar,” wrote Chrissy Bowers. “Guest psychologist helped tremendously breaking down what was happening in someone’s situation and how to overcome it,” she wrote.

Not everyone who commented liked the show.

“I was on the Father Albert show. I felt very attacked by him and I was on there talking about very difficult issues,” wrote Charlotte Evans.

This was Father Albert’s first English-language show though he’s no stranger to television and radio, having had previous shows, but in Spanish. The show garnered 538 Twitter followers and 3,866 likes on Facebook during it’s short run.

Hey! Y’all quoted me in an article……I could say lots more about that whole experience! I know kind of old news but what the producers of that show did was mislead people and falesly earn their trust and in my case send them all the way to NYC by themselves with a belief that they are going to be helped but really empty promises! Contact me if u wish to know anything more….I wish he was the new “Oprah” the world could use one…..
