NBC adds some Spice to Season 13 of Law and Order: SVU with Cuban-American Danny Pino
The thirteenth season of NBC’s Law and Order: SVU will premire on Wednesday, September 21st! With the leave of Christopher Meloni who plays Elliot Stabler there will be a new partner for Mariska Hargitay’s character Olivia Benson. L&O: SVU will be bringing in Cuban-American actor Danny Pino, 37, who is known for his previous work on Cold Case.
He sat down with Latina Magazine to talk about his new role and what to expect for the new season and we have the highlights:
“I’m not sure what they have planned in terms of where he falls and what his relationship is to the other characters yet. I don’t even know the character’s name yet because we’re still developing him.” (The character’s name will be “Nick Amaro”)
He goes on to talking about how his character will compare to Elliot Stabler’s aggressiveness on the show.
“I think having a broad range is attractive — being able to have a conversation with a witness within an investigation is potentially as interesting as strategically being antagonistic and getting physical. It’s equally as effective in getting information.”
He also talks about how proud he is to be representing Latinos with a lead role.
“I’m certainly proud to be Cuban-American and it’s a fantastic opportunity for anybody — regardless of their ethnicity or nationality. It does carry a measure or pride to know where you’re from and to know what your roots are. Tune in!”
I will surely be tuning in to see the new direction this show will be taking this fall season. Will You? How do you feel about the newbie on Law and Order: SVU?Tell us what you think in the comments below or on:
