2008 08 21 feature story 3709 4336 Javier Morgado Leaves Latina Magazine for CNNJavier Morgado, VP of business development at Latina Magazine, is leaving and going back to the broadcast world as a Senior Broadcast Producer for CNN’s new 4-hour morning show, TVNewser reports.

Morgado, a Miami native born to Cuban parents, spent more than 10 years at NBC News before joining Latina magazine including supervising producer for the Today Show.

In a 2008 interview with MetroWeekly, Morgado talked about his decision to leave Florida for New York, “‘The funny thing is I’m the kind of guy that always thought that for the rest of my life I would stay [in Florida], because that’s what Hispanic people do — they tend to stick together,” Morgado said. ”But I got this amazing job opportunity right after 9/11 to come up [to New York]. Guess what? I’ve been here seven years since, and I have never looked back on it and never regretted it. It’s been an amazing ride.”

The CNN morning show will launch in January.
