An off-duty cop shot and injured a 22-year-old man Friday afternoon on a subway platform in Harlem after two women said he had groped them, WNBC reports.

The shooting happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. on the northbound platform of the A, C, B and D station at 125h street and St. Nicholas Avenue in Harlem, according to WABC. A round was discharged from the officer’s gun and the suspect was shot in the torso, according to Police spokesman Paul J. Browne said.

Police sources tell WNBC that the off-duty cop was attempting to arrest the man after a woman complained he groped her.

The victim is in serious, but stable condition.
