Hasta La Vista! Miss Puerto Rico, Laura Ramirez, Eliminated from 2012 Miss America Pageant
UPDATE: The 2012 Miss America winner is: Miss Wisconsin, Laura Kaeppler. Congrats!
Miss Puerto Rico, 21-year-old Laura Ramirez from Arecibo, Puerto Rico did not make it into the semi-finals of Saturday night’s 2012 Miss America pageant.
Ramierez’s platform issues were transforming lives and promoting values and developing dreams. Her scholastic ambition is to attend graduate school for journalism and also become certified in sign language.
A panel of seven judges, including Raúl De Molina, will pick the next Miss America among women ages 18 to 25. The women will participate in swimsuit, evening gown, talent and interview competitions before being crowned.
Contestants represent all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Miss America Organization says they are the largest giver of scholarships to women with about $350,000 given this year at the national level.
While Miss Puerto Rico is out of the running, she can still pursue her career ambition which is to become an international journalist.Tell us what you think in the comments below or on:
