The English-language website www.MyLatinoVoice.com, which launched in September, 2008 has shut down.

The website had previously touted itself as the the fastest growing online destination for US Latinos, but the following message, as reported by Portada, now greets people on the website:

“My Latino Voice thanks you, our friends, partners and audience, for sharing your voices with us for almost 4 years. The site is on hiatus as we take on new important projects in the Latino community, where we will continue to create success and celebrate our accomplishments. Heartfelt thanks, happy holidays and a very healthy, happy and prosperous 2012!”.

The press release announcing the original website launch said that it was “Filling a void in the marketplace for online media options targeting U.S.-raised, second- and third-generation U.S. Latinos”

The site originally launched under the name Mi Apogeo, Inc., but relaunched a year later under the My Latino Voice branding.

The site was founded by former Edelman Public Relations executive Rosa Alonso who told Portada that while it might be back up “some time in the future,” she is ready to move on to a new venture, an online –and offline- initiative focusing on Latinos and education.

Alonso wouldn’t share more specifics, but said it should launch in Q1.
