Video: FC Barcelona 2 – 2 Real Madrid Highlights (Copa Del Rey)
The Spain classic is the “azul grana.” FC Barcelona suffers too much, but at the end they will still play the semi-finals of the “Copa del Rey”, after beating Real Madrid on the quarter-finals of the second leg. The Camps Nou stadium was a witness of a strong game in which Guardiola’s team performed well; furthermore, Real Madrid gave an example of good play, but it wasn’t enough to move forward in the competition, thanks to the questionable refereeing.
The story changed in 4 minutes. The “Catalan” team arrived to this match with advantage score (2-1). It seemed they would increase the score but Ronaldo and Benzema decided otherwise.
Final score 2-2.
Barça scored its goals during the first half. Pedros, with Messi’s assist, opened the score at 43’ and Álvez, who made a beautiful goal, which forced Iker to fly, made the second one at 47’; while Real Madrid scored its goals on the second half at 23′ and 27′.
During the first 45 minutes, the “culé” team didn’t play too bed, although, the white team had more chances to open the score and more possession of the ball, which is so strange in a game Vs. Barcelona. Then, at the second half, Mourinho found the right formula to make overatke Guardiola’s team. Almost the entire second 45 minutes, the “best team in the recent past” was like any other mortal team. They were desperate, confused, and timid; they were not able to play as extraordinaryly as Barça used to play.
On the other hand, the “merengues” team did a very good job; especially the German Özil. They fought face-to-face in this incredible team, who has won three times consecutively in the Spanish League.
Likewise, Messi was not in his best shape. He had many opportunities to increase the score, but his aim was erratic, like that of Ronaldo; both could do more and more for their teams. Incredibly, Iker did not have much work as in the last matches between that teams. So, it speaks of the Barcelona’s performance.
Moreover, the refereeing was polemic. A disallowed goal and a double yellow card to Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), a foul of Abidal (Barcelona), a penalty not unmarked in favor of Real Madrid, not having expelled Lass Diarra (Real Madrid), and that the referee ended the game before the end of the extra time, will create controversy.
In spite of the questionable refereeing, both teams could win; especially Real Madrid, because few minutes before the game ended, they had the opportunity to score in a corner shot where Benzema, Ramos and Ronaldo didn’t work together and the ball went to the final line.
The worse thing for Barcelona was Iniesta’s and Alexis Sánchez’s injuries.
At the end, Barza will play semi-finals, but without convincing.
So, check out the video below and Guardiola’s face in the closing minutes sums up all.
