New York City Launches Spanish-Language Twitter Account
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg already speaks Spanish at his daily press briefings (which sparked a parody Twitter channel last year after multiple Hurricane Irene press conferences) and now the City is officially speaking Spanish on Twitter.
The City’s official English-language Twitter account welcomed the new account @NYCGob today and Chief Digital officer Rachel Sterne also welcomed the new Twitter account with an “hola y bienvenido.”
So far, the Tweets, which began on May 21st are similar to Tweets posted on the City’s English Twitter channel with Tweets about parking enforcement and City Services, but the one below highlighted the Spanish-language speaking 311 operators.
