Burger King Employees Fired after Feet-in-Lettuce Photo Hits Web
Hold the lettuce on your next Whopper! Several people uploaded the above image — which originally appeared on 4Chan — to the Mayfield Heights, Ohio Facebook page and Burger King has confirmed that it was taken at one of their restaurants.
Bryson Thornton, director of global communications for Burger King, told NBC news that it happens to be “independently owned and operated by a Burger King franchisee.”
“The franchisee has taken swift action to investigate this matter and terminated the three employees involved in the incident,” he told NBC News.
This is Burger King’s official statement regarding the inccident:
“Burger King Corp. has recently been made aware of a photo that shows a Burger King restaurant employee violating the company’s stringent food handling procedures. Food safety is a top priority at all Burger King restaurants and the company maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any violations such as the one in question.”
Whoever took the photo forget to disable the geo-tracking tags, which gave away the location of those lettuce stomping ex-Burger King employees.
When was the last time you ate at Burger King? Does this change your opinion of Burger King at all?
