ABC News/Univision Network is Hiring! -
ABC/Univision Network posted several positions on MediaBistro.com Tuesday as part of their “far-reaching, multiplatform joint venture designed to inform, empower and inspire Hispanic Americans in English while providing all audiences with uncompromising coverage of current events with a unique perspective.”
The new 24/7 network will feature the first English-language channel for English-dominant and bilingual Hispanics as well as integrated digital and social platforms for the U.S.

Human Resources Director
Job requirements: The HR Director is an integral member of the leadership team for the Joint Venture between ABC and Univision (JV). The JV was established to create an English language news and lifestyle multiplatform network targeted to a Hispanic audience. The Human Resources Director is a hands-on role that provides comprehensive guidance across all Human Resources functions. As part of the leadership team, the HR Director will devise HR strategies and contribute to business growth through sound judgment and analysis. S/he will be the key liaison between the JV and its Members (Univision and ABC) in terms of Human Resources Management and Processes.
Vice President – Chief Financial Officer
Job requirements: The VP Chief Financial Officer is an employee of the Joint Venture between ABC and Univision (JV), established to create an English language news and lifestyle multiplatform network targeted to a Hispanic audience. As an integral member of the leadership team, the VP CFO will devise strategies and contribute to business growth through sound judgment and analysis. S/he will be the key liaison between the JV, its Members and the Board of Directors in terms of reporting the financial performance which will be benchmarked to the requirements established in the JV agreement. The VP CFO will report to the JVs Chief Executive Officer.
The specific duties of the VP CFO include general supervision and control over all financial matters of the JV Company and its Subsidiaries, including accounting and financial statements and audits; financial management reporting; payment and collection functions; cash management; relations with lenders, outside auditors and other providers of financial services; tax preparation and management (together with outside legal counsel); and establishing and maintaining financial controls, and shall have and perform such other powers and duties from time to time, determined by the Board or the CEO.
Digital Executive Producer
Job Requirements: The Digital Executive Producer (EP) will lead the development and management of the digital properties for the ABC-Univision Joint Venture (JV), established to create an English language news and lifestyle multiplatform network targeted to a Hispanic audience. The Digital EP will oversee the tone and content on all digital platforms and serve as the primary liaison with the larger JV editorial team and all traditional news platforms. The Digital EP will also be responsible for identifying revenue making opportunities and developing digital business, marketing and operations strategies. The Digital EP will report to the Chief Programming Officer.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to meet and adapt to changing industry demands; be flexible and able to balance multiple projects/priorities; have a strong grounding and appreciation for the 24/7 digital rhythm of news; as well as a strong instinct, understanding, and background in the digital space.
This is both a hands-on and strategic position.
Vice President – Chief Programming Officer
Job requirements: The VP Chief Programming Officer (CPO) will be the executive of the ABC-Univision Joint Venture (JV) responsible for content across all of the ventures platforms. The Joint Venture was established to create an English language news and lifestyle multiplatform network targeted to a Hispanic audience. The VP CPO will guide the creative and editorial direction of all programming from inception and will play the major decision-making role in development of all content. The VP CPO will spearhead the development of all programs digital as well as cable, manage all of the senior production staffs and steer the voice of the new network. The VP CPO will also manage program scheduling across all platforms.
The VP CPO will report directly to the JVs Chief Executive Officer. This role requires superior strategic, interpersonal, communication and project management skills as well as proven management success. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience creating captivating broadcast and digital programming, a solid journalism background and an in-depth understanding of the target demographic.
This position will oversee the JV creative teams including all broadcast and digital executive producers and will guide the ventures creative decisions and programming. The VP CPO is a creative risk-taker with tested industry acumen, audience awareness and the organizational and managerial skills necessary to help convert the best ideas into compelling content and programs.Tell us what you think in the comments below or on:
