Univision’s Despierta America Teaches Latinos Twitter 101
Twitter took center stage on Univision’s Despierta America Thursday morning during a marathon session of Social TV. The perky morning crew gave viewers a Twitter tutorial and explained the meaning of a hashtag. The team also wore black t-shirts with the hashtag #DespiertaAmerica printed across the front. After the lesson, the team went to work responding to Tweets and interacting with fans on the service.
Univision is also incorporating social media into additional programming.
Last month’s Premios Juventud award show marked the first time that Univision fans were able to nominate and vote for their favorite best-dressed celebrity via Twitter through the hashtag #MejorVestido.” It was the number one social program for the day it aired and was trending on Twitter, according to Lost Remote.
While Despierta America did not make Trendrr.TV’s list of the top 10 social shows for Thursday (list below), we’re confident it has the potential as Univision continues efforts to make its programming more social.
Have you ever Tweeted with Despierta America? What about other shows?
