WorldView: Ricky Martin on the NYC Marathon: “The Show Must Go On”

WorldView: Ricky Martin on the NYC Marathon: “The Show Must Go On”

The NYC Marathon has been canceled as of early Friday evening, but earlier in the day TMZ caught up with Ricky Martin and asked him his thoughts on conducting the marathon when so many New Yorkers were still without basic essentials like electricity and water (VIDEO BELOW).

Thousands of New Yorkers were upset that the Marathon would continue, but not Ricky who said, “The show must go on.”

Did Ricky suffer much during Sandy? No, he told TMZ that “Everything is fine. I live in a bunker. But it’s horrible what’s going on in New Jersey.”

Ricky also said he goes through hurricanes “every year” in his native Puerto Rico.

Ricky had a change of heart and later Tweeted the following: “4 a second I thought it was a gr8 idea 4 the NYC marathon not to b canceled. I CHANGE MY MIND. My heart goes out to all the victims.”

We’re glad you changed your mind, Ricky!
