Bad Joke or Lack of Judgement? How The Huffington Post gets Silly with Immigration
Julio | On 25, Jan 2013
Announcing the latest move of the Obama administration to take on immigration reform, the Huffington Post published an article today with the following headline “Ándale! Obama To Make Major Immigration Announcement Next Week.”
Was that a bad taste joke? or a lack of editorial judgement?
This type of headlines not only lowers the level of the immigration debate, but also trivializes the people that are in the midst of this, such as dreamers or parents who have to wait years to get a visa in order to come to the States to be reunited with their children. Not to mention the ignorance of the person that wrote it and the editor that approved it.
Do you think the use of Ándale is detrimental to the overall immigration debate? Let us know what you think and join the discussion at DosLives.com and on Twitter @DosLives.
